After 31 years, the Hillsborough/Orange County Chamber of Commerce decided to pass the Hog Day festival over to a group of veteran volunteers with the Orange County Optimist Club.

These volunteers have organized a Hog Day Committee to continue this tradition and use the profits to offer back as community grants to local children's projects, programs and nonprofits.

Some of the organizations our proceeds have supported include Efland Ruritan Club, Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill, Hillsborough Moose Lodge, Hillsborough Exchange Club, Orange County Social Services Christmas Child Program and many others.

Hog Day is celebrating its 36th anniversary and serves as Orange County’s largest and longest running festival. Our event is rich in history and has received national recognition as one of the top festivals in America.

From our humble beginnings as a small community event to receiving as many as 50,000 visitors annually, we offer great family fun. 100% of the profit from this event stays in the community and will be invested into supporting projects, schools and nonprofit organizations here in Orange County.
